The Opportunity:

Aquatics provide quality recreation through programming, public and lane swim opportunities to citizens in and around Airdrie. This area also meets or exceeds operational guidelines established under the Alberta Pool Standards and the Public Health Act.

Monitor slide usage to ensure the safety of patrons through education and rule enforcement

Successful candidates must be able to climb stairs and be comfortable working from heights

LIFEGUARD/INSTRUCTOR $20.84 - $26.05
While lifeguarding and/or instructing, ensure the safety of patrons through education and rule enforcement
Public relations and safety education
Instruction of a variety of aquatic programs
Related administrative and maintenance duties
Provide first aid as necessary
General cleaning and maintenance of change room and aquatics area
General supervision of aquatics area

AQUATIC SHIFT LEADER $24.46 - $30.57
Supervision and leadership of lifeguards and the pool area
Oversee designated shift times ensuring provincial legislation, industry standards, best practices as well as internal policies and procedures are adhered to
While lifeguarding and/or instructing, ensure the safety of patrons through education and rule enforcement
Public relations and safety education for customers and lifeguards
Coordinate provision of lifeguard and instructional service to ensure exceptional team work
Oversee pool operations and maintenance
Instruction of a variety of aquatic programs
Perform first aid as necessary
General cleaning and maintenance of change room and aquatics area
Work with the Operations team with administering chemical treatments for water
Assist the Aquatic Coordinators and Aquatics Team Leader as needed
Related administrative and maintenance duties

You Bring:

WATER SLIDE ATTENDANT
Minimum 15 years of age
Intermediate First Aid, CPR-C & AED (formerly named Standard First Aid, CPR-C & AED)
Bronze Medallion and/or Bronze Cross would be an asset
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Experienced in providing exceptional customer service
Able to work in a fast paced, diverse team environment
An interest in becoming a lifeguard

Minimum 15 years of age
Current awards in the following areas (copies of awards are required with the submission of resumes):
Lifesaving Society Swim and Lifesaving Instructor

Current certificates in the following areas would be considered an asset:
National Lifeguard Award

Additional Information:

Schedules are created matching employee availability to the operational and seasonal needs. This position may involve daytime, early morning, evening and weekend shifts. Successful candidates must have the flexibility to work different shifts each week. You may be in the water for up to 4 hours per shift. Part time hours, as needed. There are no minimum number of guaranteed hours per week.

Successful candidates who have the required experience, skills and fit may have the opportunity for additional hours by being selected for more than one position.

You will work in a humid or wet condition of varying temperatures. This role deals with chemicals.
