As a specialist in social work the incumbent will provide comprehensive care to sexually assaulted persons and victims of intimate partner violence as well as embody a culture of caregiver inclusion in the patient’s plan of care.
• Master’s Degree in Social Work• Current registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers• Minimum of 3 years’ experience and demonstrated expertise in trauma, dissociation and the symptomatology related to sexual assault and intimate partner violence or relative experience• Demonstrated case management experience• Valid driver's license and access to own transportation• Proven ability to manage crisis situations• Good interpersonal skills and the ability to develop a community network• Ability to work independently• Strong written and communication skills• Good computer skills• Demonstrated regular, punctual attendance• Demonstrated commitment to patient safetyAssets:• Certified in non-violent crisis intervention• Experience in criminal court• Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Trained• Functional level in both official languages (oral and written in English; oral in French – and testing completed)
