Position Summary

As a Manager, Disability Management, you will be an integral part of a collaborative team focused on delivering seamless services and programs to our clients and customers. This is a Work from Home position. Your home office work environment will need to be safe by Occupational Health and Safety standards, quiet, with few distractions and overall conducive to working productively, effectively and confidentially. You will require consistent internet capability of at least 25 Mbps, and preferably 50 Mbps, download speed. We will provide you with a computer and, where a phone is required to perform your work, we will provide a phone.

What you'll be doing

• Ensure the team is appropriately staffed at all times
• Provide case management expertise to the team and organization and assist with challenging cases
• Forecast and manage change to ensure profitability and stabilization of the organization
• Work collaboratively with Homewood Health staff as required on integration and service delivery activities
• Collaborate with Account Executive to address complex customer situations and account needs
• Ensure staff understands performance expectations and identify/address any performance gaps
• Help the team to achieve goals by providing support and coaching to assist them in fulfilling the requirements of their job
• Participate in business development activities as assigned by Director
• Assist with RFP proposals and presentation meetings
• Ensure quality assurance standards are maintained at all times
• Manage day-to-day relationships with the customer and other stakeholders
• Respond to customer inquiries on complex cases
• Investigate any privacy breaches or customer complaints, and liaise with the Account Executive as appropriate
• Assist with projects as required

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Disability Management, Psychology, Kinesiology or other related disciplines.
• 5+ years of Disability management, STD/LTD insurance, WCB.
• Any disability management related professional certification is an asset.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of disability management practices.
• Excellent leadership, coaching, and people management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to think and act with strategic and tactical agility.
• Strong presentation skills, highly developed organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including active listening skills, French language skills are an asset.
• Excellent business acumen and strong project management skills
• Above average proficiency with Microsoft Office (Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Internet and email
• Excellent ability to exercise appropriate judgment, tact and discretion
• Ability to create an environment that supports team spirit across the organization
• Inspire others to be accountable through action, decisions and/or communications
• Encourage risk taking to find innovative solutions
• Excellent decision making and problem solving skills
• Be a change agent for the organization and have the ability to effectively manage one’s own behavior and positively influence the actions of others during times of change, stress or uncertainty
• Ability to operate with a high degree of honesty and integrity
