Requisition #: CPD2315 Job Category: Healthcare Professional Department: Medical Device Reprocessing Dept (MDRD) Job Type: Temporary Part Time Contract End Date: November 22, 2024 Open Positions: 1 Job Number: J0523-1472 OVERVIEW To apply the most current techniques and knowledge for the processing of sterile products in order to provide high quality service in the supply of med-surgical products and instrumentation to user areas. Responsible for decontamination, reprocessing and sterilization of equipment, supplies and surgical instrumentation. EDUCATION - Minimum of grade 12 or equivalent. - Successful completion of MDRD certification from an accredited college (completion of program within the last 2 years) required. QUALIFICATIONS - One-year experience (within the last 2 years) working in an MDRD environment required. - Adheres to hospital's workplace safety standards pertinent to position. - Experience in the functions of assembly, prep and package, decontamination of surgical case carts/instruments/trays/equipment. - Computer skills. - Able to demonstrate good decision-making and problem solving skills. - Good interpersonal and communication skills. - Ability to work independently and within a team environment. - Demonstrated ability to lift 25 lbs repeatedly and push items over 50 lbs repeatedly. - Ability to work all shifts including weekends and night shift. - Good work and attendance record required. - All employees of Michael Garron Hospital (MGH), a division of Toronto East Health Network (TEHN) (formerly Toronto East General Hospital) agree to work within the legislated practices of the Occupational Health and Safety Act of Ontario. - All employees of MGH are responsible to contribute to a transparent culture of patient and staff safety by adhering to and abiding by patient ad staff safety policies and procedures set by MGH. - All employees are accountable for protecting the psychological health and safety of themselves and their co-workers through adherence to MGH's policies and practices.
