Summary of Responsibilities

Under the supervision of a clinical manager, the technologist performs diagnostic examinations of organ physiology using radioactive substances to enable the physician to make a diagnosis. They use techniques designed to produce images used to establish a diagnosis in the case of radiodiagnosis and nuclear medicine.
Given the presence and use of radioactive substances specific to nuclear medicine, the technologist must demonstrate consistent compliance with environmental safety standards and respect the strict radiation protection measures that must be applied for the technologist, patients and their surroundings.

Profile and Experience

• A college diploma in nuclear medicine technology;
• Active membership in the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO);
• Active membership in the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT);
• Hold a valid certificate in cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
• A minimum of six (6) months' experience as a registered hospital technologist.

Asset

• Knowledge of PACS and Meditech.
