The Program

The Position

WJS Canada, is building our 24/7 CASUAL FLOAT POOL to work a variety of shifts as a Community Disability Support Worker, covering staff illness, leaves, vacation etc.

• AVAILABILITY to work: day, night (sleep) or Night (awake) shifts

LOCATION: Group homes or private residences in Westlock/Barrhead, Alberta

WHEN DO I WORK? Set your availability and claim any available open shifts.

HOW MUCH WILL I MAKE? $19.72+/hr plus pay in lieu of benefits

WHEN CAN I START? Complete the signup process, provide required security clearances and start as soon as possible!

In Your Role You Will

• Guide and support persons with developmental disabilities, autism, mental health issues &/or FASD in a group home or private home setting
• Model socially appropriate behaviors (for the individual and the community).
• Administer medical administration or first aid, according to prescribed procedures.
• Receive training for: Non-violent Crisis Intervention, First Aid, Suicide Prevention, etc.

*** Prior to confirmation of employment all applicants must provide a current (dated within 6 months of hiring date) Criminal Record Check and Ministry Check. These checks can take up to 6 weeks to obtain, please ensure you prepare accordingly.

As An Ideal Candidate You Possess

• High School Diploma
• Related experience - educational assistant, healthcare aide, social services worker, youth worker
• A Driver’s License
• Clear criminal record and social services intervention check
