CIMCO (a division of Toromont Industries) is looking for a Project Manager with at least 5 years of construction and Mechanical/Electrical Project management experience. This role will appeal to you if you take pride in the quality and efficiency of the projects you oversee. You possess a sense of urgency, are a problem solver and have exceptional costing & project management skills.

Contract Term: 18 - 20 months to October 2021

Role Responsibilities

• Construct Mechanical/Electrical, HVAC/Refrigeration projects (Commercial, Industrial & Recreational) on budget and within established schedules in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
• Assist all stakeholders in the preparation of budgets, critical path schedules and quality control programs.
• Monitor and maintain project schedules on a regular basis (generally weekly) and keep all stakeholders informed of critical developments.
• Plan, coordinate and manage effectively all labour, material and equipment to meet the established budget, schedule and scope of the projects.
• Fully understand and be familiar with all contract drawings and specifications in order to identify any errors, changes, omissions, cost-saving measures or potential construction issues.
• Direct, manage and control trades, suppliers, utilities and any third parties to ensure work is undertaken in the proper sequence and in full compliance with the construction program.
• Maintains and tracks billings, reports and projections and implements trade awards and construction work within financial targets and constraints
• Conduct activities in accordance with all company policies and procedures including safety and respecting the environment.
• Other duties as assigned

Required Professional Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications

• At least 5 years of mechanical or refrigeration industry experience
• Technical training in mechanical engineering (CET or equivalent) is an asset
• Knowledge of industry standards and best practices
• PMP certification is an asset
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Exceptional planning and organization skills with the ability to manage a number of projects with competing priorities
• Able to work under pressure to meet firm budgets and tight deadlines
• A proven track record of building and maintaining effective relationships with clients, owners and consultants
• Trained and certified in all aspects of construction safety is an asset
• Able to represent the company in a professional and respectful manner
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
• Effective and confident team leader
• Proficient in MS-Word, Excel and Outlook
• Working knowledge of MS-Project
