CIMCO USA is seeking an experienced Industrial Controls Technician with over three years of industrial controls experience to join our team.

The Industrial Controls Technician will be responsible for designing, programming, repairing, and maintaining programmable logic controller (PLC) systems used within industrial refrigeration facilities. This role requires the ability to diagnose equipment malfunctions and make more complicated repairs or adjustments as needed. The position will require work in environments with heat, noise, and refrigerant gases, and physical activities such as lifting, climbing, standing, walking, crouching, squatting, bending, and kneeling. The role will also require 60% travel, including some weekend and holiday work

This position is based out of Mobile, Alabama.

Role Responsibilities

• Responsible for programming customized control systems for industrial and commercial refrigeration systems.
• Developing customized user interface graphics packages using Wonderware, RS View, and other software.
• Identify and resolve technical risks and providing customer technical support as needed.
• Install new PLC systems and upgrade existing PLC systems.
• Program or perform repairs on PLC systems.
• Perform troubleshooting and programming of Ethernet equipment and network connections on PLC systems.
• Work independently under limited supervision (self-management)
• Documentation of work schedule and work tasks completed.
• Demonstrate good communication skills and ability to coordinate projects between engineers, contractors, and technicians.

Required Professional Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications

• Proficient with Rockwell/Allen-Bradley PLC software and hardware and HMI development and maintenance.
• Well-organized and able to process large amounts of complex information, effective operational troubleshooting and decision-making skills.
• Experience with basic electrical systems (e.g., starters, fuses, contacts, relays).
• Experience with electrical systems (installation, frequency drive, troubleshooting)
• Experience with electronics (e.g., level probes, flow meters, drives/VFDs, etc.).
• Experience with PLC and HMI (e.g., industrial maintenance, computer control systems, etc.).
• Experience with product manuals (e.g., reading and applying knowledge to make repairs).
• Experience with schematics (e.g., electrical blueprints with switches, starters, maps, and relays).
• Experience with troubleshooting (e.g., diagnostics, problem-solving, etc.).
• Experience with Control systems design and electrical.
• Familiarity with 3-Phase power and electrical circuits.
• Experience with compressors/ammonia systems (e.g., refrigeration systems).
• AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical experience is helpful.
