We are currently looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Manufacturing Engineering Group.

As a member of the Manufacturing Engineering Group, you will work independently with the knowledge of CSA and UL panel building electrical codes to produce electrical schematics and panel layouts using AutoCad, prepare bills of material, requisition all raw materials necessary to fabricate your design, test electrical panels and develop sales estimates,. You will troubleshoot problems as they arise and work together with shop floor personnel to develop innovative and cost-effective solutions. You may also provide sales support by preparing preliminary designs for equipment in accordance with customer specifications.

The successful candidates will be hands-on, electrically and mechanically inclined and a minimum of 10 years of electrical engineering experience.

Role Responsibilities

• Provide technical guidance to the engineering teams.
• Provide a comprehensive review of project scope, client requirements and project milestones.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers within the team.
• Design electrical power & control circuits and panel layouts conformed to CSA & UL standards.
• Prepare detailed manufacturing drawings using AutoCad Electrical
• Coordinate starter panel design with control system design
• Prepare bills of material and issue material requisitions to purchasing department using SAP software.
• Monitor assembly of panels in CIMCO manufacturing facility and provide technical support.
• Test the electrical panels to check the sequence of operation.
• Develop sales estimates.
• Liaise with multiple CIMCO departments, customers, and suppliers.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement /Lean Manufacturing meetings.

Required Professional Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications

• Post-Secondary Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Professional Engineer Designation would be an asset.
• Good working knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical.
• Knowledge of CSA & UL Codes and Standards.
• Knowledge of AC motor controls using conventional and modern techniques is required.
• Knowledge of electrical and electronic instrumentations is required.
• Knowledge of control strategies for refrigeration equipment would be an asset.
• Familiarity with SAP software would be an asset.
• Exposure to manufacturing processes.
• Ability to work alone or in a team and accept responsibility for the work performed.
• Ability to schedule work, deal with conflicts and meet deadlines.
• Ability to read and understand technical specifications.
• Ability to document engineering designs, prepare record files.
• Ability to troubleshoot problems.
• Ability to coordinate with panel shop personnel & electricians to ensure successful project completion
