The Human Resources Business Partner will support defined client groups through a full range of human resource guidance to ensure organization priorities/goals are successfully integrated and achieved. As part of Corporate Human Resources, the HRBP will be involved in the development and implementation of progressive and effective programs, solutions and initiatives for the assigned client group(s) as well as the enterprise. Key functional responsibilities will include employee / labour relations, organizational development, disability case management, full-cycle recruitment and ongoing coaching, advising business leaders on employee development & engagement.

This truly multi-faceted generalist role will appeal to a mid-level professional who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment, sees challenges as opportunities, believes in the value of continuous improvement and is looking to further develop themselves as a valued partner through a variety of HR experiences. Fluency in French would be considered an asset.

Location: Burlington, ON

Role Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and guidance on Talent Management initiatives for assigned client groups including;
• Key advisor and/or resource for employee / labour relations on a national basis
• Full-cycle recruitment and selection for assigned client group(s)
• Supporting and mentoring client group leadership in the development and deployment of effective employee performance/development strategies and processes.
• Assist with Disability Case Management (non-occupational)
• Participate in the needs analysis, planning and coordination of employee training and development courses
• Respond to employee requests regarding current policies and procedures and various HR related matters for both union and non-union groups
• Assist with compensation and benefits administration
• Participate in the design, development, roll out and training of employment policies and procedures.
• Identifies opportunities to streamline or automate processes to continuously improve service delivery

Required Professional Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications

• Post-Secondary Education in Human Resources or a related discipline
• Minimum of 7- 9 years’ Human Resources experience on a national / international basis
• Expert knowledge of employment related legislation and application across Canada and/or USA
• Strong knowledge of employee / labour relations, recruitment, health and safety, disability management, compensation, benefits, and training.
• 6+ years of recruitment experience and building a talent pipeline is preferred
• Excellent leadership, problem solving, facilitation and interpersonal skills.
• Resourceful, innovative, and persuasive.
• Flexibility to quickly shift priorities and juggle simultaneous requirements.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Fluency (oral & written) in French would be considered an asset
• Ability to operate effectively both tactically and strategically in support of short and long term business priorities.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration and adaptability are important
• Experience in an industrial and/or manufacturing, and/or construction environment is considered an asset
• Experience working within a unionized environment an asset
• CHRL designation is an asset.
