The Board of Directors also exercises its powers and perform its duties and functions in a manner that respects the Government of Canada’s commitments with respect to the rights of the Indigenous peoples. The Board of Directors does not give directions or provide advice with respect to any particular decision, order or recommendation that would be made by the Commission or a Commissioner.
