Emergency preparedness is a critical aspect of CCH operations. It is essential that all staff and physicians receive training and understand their roles and responsibilities in this field.

Summary of responsibilities

The Physiotherapist provides quality physiotherapy assessment, treatment and education to referred patients/families and caregivers based on a client centered approach; education and clinical training for physiotherapy students and hospital employees; consulting services to community agencies. The physiotherapist performs physical/functional assessment on all referred patients which include: acute inpatients, outpatients and adult rehabilitation inpatients; documents patient assessment, treatment, progress, discharge plans and statistics; initiates and participate in physiotherapy in-services and hospital quality assurance programs as well as embody a culture of caregiver inclusion in the patient’s plan of care.

Scheduled days, 8 hour shifts between 0800-2000 – Schedule subject to change

Requirements of the job

• BSc in Physical Therapy from an accredited Canadian Physiotherapy program
• Licensed with or eligible for licensure with the Ontario College of Physiotherapists
• Good understanding of Quality Improvement
• Demonstrated regular, punctual attendance
• Demonstrated commitment to patient safety
• Functional proficiency in English, oral and written, and oral French with testing completed
Preferred:
• MSc in Physical Therapy from an accredited Canadian Physiotherapy program
