Reporting to the Chief Information and Operating Officer, the Manager, Clinical Informatics is responsible for leading the implementation, integration and ongoing administration of clinical information systems. In partnership with physicians, nurses, allied health, health care leaders, Information Technology and other hospital staff, the Manager, Clinical Informatics will identify workflows and processes and translate them to technical designs to ensure optimization and standardization of the clinical information technologies that allow for enhanced delivery of patient care. Ensures the optimal performance of Clinical Informatics including service, quality, regulatory compliance and efficiency.
• 4-year Undergraduate Degree in Health Informatics, Health Administration, Nursing or other related fields.• Minimum 3 years experience in health informatics • Minimum 5 years experience in an acute care hospital setting with thorough understanding of physicians, nursing and healthcare workers.• Experience using healthcare applications and technologies.• Masters degree in Health Informatics, Health administration or nursing is an asset• Business intelligence and analytics training is an asset• Certified, Lean Green Belt an asset• Experience in a management role is an asset*While there may be an opportunity to work remotely, this is primarily an on-site position*
• Manage day-to-day operations of the clinical informatics team including the implementation, optimization, integration and ongoing administration of clinical information systems • Assist in the system design and planning for any new functionality or enhancements • Manage the framework for informatics support for all clinical settings and end users • Comply with accreditation standards and participates in the accreditation process • Responsible to assist in the development, monitoring and presentation of the program Scorecard• Participate in the development of short and long-term goals and objectives for the department in alignment with the strategic direction of the hospital • Demonstrated ability in relationship building to achieve co-operation, collaboration and consensus amongst diverse stakeholders • Demonstrated clinical and administrative leadership skills • Excellent oral and written communication skills
