Scouts new player talent and recruits quality student athletes; Works closely with players, talking one on one, discussing strategy, reviewing games and scrims; Develops and implements an effective training program; Educating players in sportsmanship, fair play and gaming ambassadorship; Provides post-game analysis, prepare strategies and drafts for the matches; Provides leadership in the personal, academic and athletic development of student athletes; Monitors the overall health and condition of all athletes; Responsible for player growth and improvement; Understands all athletic rules and regulations, and assure compliance and consistency among athletes; Works closely with the eSports Manager, assisting in communicating with league officials and press; Actively attends and participates in department meetings, special events and community public relations events as required; Ensures inviting and friendly atmosphere; Maintains knowledge of relevant, current gaming industry trends; Handles a wide range of practical matters concerning the team.
Post-secondary credential in a related field is required; High-level competitive gaming knowledge and experience as a player; Previous experience coaching in a team environment; A baseline understanding of the latest in statistical research and analytic trends across eSports; Understand the general framework, limitations and capabilities of and within the game; Ability to analyze data and use this data to gain a competitive advantage, whether in real time during the game or to help in training, preparation, or recruitment; Ability to lead, inspire and educate the next generation of gamers; Committed to leading a highly competitive program that focuses on student athlete success academically and in the arena; Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as exceptional critical thinking skills to effectively troubleshoot or solve problems effectively; The ability to recognize conflict and the necessary skills to resolve it; Possess a high degree of initiative with outstanding conceptual and analytical skills and a strong attention to detail; Capacity to work in partnership with the eSports Manager; Capable of dealing with a diverse group of individuals with different backgrounds and languages; Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development in order to maintain currency in the eSports industry.
