Specific Accountabilities:

The Professor will be responsible for providing academic leadership and for developing an effective environment through the design and revision of programs and courses, defining and evaluating learning outcomes, developing appropriate teaching and learning environments, and developing / selecting appropriate learning materials. You will be expected to tutor and counsel students as well as evaluate student achievement. Participating in the work of curriculum, program advisory and other committees, and keeping current in your field through consultation with business and industry representatives are essential components of these positions. You will champion the development of customized training and educational programs in collaboration with public and private sector partners. Program promotion and student recruitment are essential areas of responsibility.

Qualifications:

Qualified candidates will possess an Honours university degree, Bachelor of Commerce or Honours Bachelor of Business degree with a specialization in Accounting preferred. A Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Commerce, Master of Accounting or Master of (Business related Profession is preferred. You will currently hold the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation in Canada or an equivalent designation from another country and have a minimum of five years of recent and significant work experience in business and accounting, including management experience. Ideally this experience should involve work with small to mid-size businesses.
Additional qualifications include teaching or training, industry experience and the desire to contribute to the education of the next generation of business professionals. Applicants must have the ability to be an effective role model in an educational setting and function effectively in a team environment.
Successful candidates must be passionate about teaching, possess an entrepreneurial spirit and be dedicated to developing young hearts and minds to serve local and global communities. Successful candidates will demonstrate a commitment and capacity for teaching excellence, student engagement, scholarly activity, and campus citizenship. Candidates must be excellent communicators, possess strong interpersonal skills and be able to relate effectively to a wide variety of learners. Candidates who demonstrate knowledge or competency in the following academic skills and abilities will be given preference: curriculum design; instructional design and delivery; active, collaborative learning techniques; effective assessment and evaluation of learning; appropriate use of technology for teaching and learning; a track record of professional and academic development.
