As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and the need to strengthen and promote health protection to patients, staff and members of the public attending in the hospital, prior to the first day of employment with the Hospital, all successful candidates are required to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination (full vaccination is required) from the Ontario Ministry of Health website or other authorized source. An individual is fully vaccinated if they have provided proof of vaccination in the form of a receipt from COVaxON (the Ministry’s provincial system for COVID-19 vaccination information) and 14 days have elapsed from the final dose. In the event that you are unable to be vaccinated as a result of a ground protected under the Human Rights Code, you may submit a written explanation of the ground and any supporting documentation to determine if you are exempt from this requirement.

Position Summary

Manager, Medical Imaging
Reporting to the Director of Clinical Diagnostics, your goal in this role is to manage the day-to-day operational and clinical excellence of the Medical Imaging Department through effective critical thinking, relationship-building and communication with both Hospital partners and department staff. You will facilitate the provision of an outstanding diagnostic service, and patient and family experience within the Medical Imaging Department. The Manager is responsible for supporting the development of a high performance team, ensuring the delivery of high quality and safe care for patients and families, and a healthy work environment for staff, physicians and volunteers. The Manager brings a high level of operational expertise and leadership skills to a diverse team. You will take on the shared responsibility for ensuring that health and safety policies are followed to provide for a healthy environment for patients, staff, physicians, volunteers and families. This position supports the hospital’s academic mandate by advancing care through teaching and learning and/or transforming care through research and innovation. On a practical level, you will


  • Promote best practices and evidence based practices through the implementation of initiatives that are aligned with the organization’s strategic direction

  • Manage on a day-to-day basis the physical, financial and human resources of the team in line with the mission, vision, values and strategic direction of the organization

  • Maintain compliance with required Health & Safety, environmental and other legislative requirements

  • Build relationships with peers and other contacts across the organization and externally to create opportunities for synergy/integration

  • Demonstrate leadership skills, with a lens of strong patient/family focus

  • Have effective interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills, combined with excellent organizational skills, with demonstrated ability to achieve outcomes

  • Ensure clinical and regulatory compliance of the team by supporting interprofessional professional practice improvement

  • Demonstrate effective people/project leadership skills, with ability to give feedback

  • Demonstrate strategic conceptual thinker, with ability to integrate systems thinking into operations

Qualifications


  • Registered Medical Radiation Technologist with a minimum of a Baccalaureate, or equivalent experience

  • Registration in good standing with the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario

  • 3 to 5 years of management or leadership experience

  • Experience in policy and program development skills

  • Proficient in computers and Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, MS Project, Adobe Acrobat

  • Strong PACS/IT experience an asset

  • Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologist preferred

  • Master’s Degree in relevant field preferred
